How It Works
1. GPA (weight 35%) - Higher GPA increases your base score. A 4.0 gives full points; below 2.0 reduces eligibility.
2. Household Income (weight 30%) - Lower income yields higher need-based eligibility. Under $30k gives maximum points; over $100k reduces.
3. Extracurriculars (weight 20%) - Active involvement (5-15 hours/week) boosts your profile. Too little or too much lowers the score.
4. Essay Quality (weight 15%) - Strong writing (4 or 5) adds a significant bonus. Average or below reduces overall score.
Final Score = (GPA score x 0.35) + (Income score x 0.30) + (Extracurricular score x 0.20) + (Essay score x 0.15), scaled to 0-100. Scores above 70 indicate strong eligibility; 50-70 moderate; below 50 limited.
