Formula: Commission = max(Trade Value x (Rate / 100), Minimum Commission)

Where:

  • Trade Value = Number of Shares x Price per Share
  • Rate = Commission percentage (e.g., 0.5% = 0.50)
  • Minimum Commission = The lowest fee the broker will charge (e.g., $1.00)

If the calculated commission is less than the minimum, the minimum fee is applied. This ensures the result reflects real-world broker policies. Default values are based on typical discount brokers (0.5% rate, $1 minimum).
